An afternoon in Africa

Yesterday we had the wonderful opportunity to visit AfriNOON, an afternoon dedicated to African culture. It was organized by our representatives of African member states and the atmosphere was so good that we felt like we were in Africa!

For all those who missed it - here's a short video to make you feel a little sorry for missing out. ;-) And for all those who did visit  it - watch the video to reminisce a little.

As we did not interview all of the present delegates, fortunately some have sent us an e-mail with their opinion of the event:

The delegate of Italy:
Italy would like to express our gratitude to the representatives of African countries for the organisation of Afrinoon and stress that this was really a great opportunity to get to know African culture better. We were also able to see that African states are very well organized, united and doing their best to assure that African voice will be heard at the upcoming GA sessions.

The delegate of USA:
Delegation of the United States of America sees events as Afrinoon as a great way to get to know better other delegations, regions and organizations. Not only was this a fun way to get to know a part of culturally enriched, ethnically diverse and warm communities, but also an interesting way to intertwine the work of non-governmental organizations and an event prepared by permanent missions of African countries to the United Nations.

Delegation of United States was pleased to attend this event, which was impeccable both on organizational as well as content level. United States of America see Africa and its countries as important and strategic partners in the international community. African voice needs to be heard. Today's event was a great way to show advantages, opportunities and hidden jewels of this continent
