The D-8 member states organized a press conference at which they presented their coalition, its functioning and they also took time to answer some press questions about their common standpoints and policies regarding the three topics on the GA agenda. Below you will find a video of the presentation and also a short analysis of their standpoints.
They were rather mysterious about the policies but they said they are focused on closer cooperation. They still have to discuss how they will proceed tomorrow at the GA session but their interests are likely to go in the same direction. There is a strong possibility of a collective effort and general position but they emphasize that each individual state will remain individual so in the case of some problematic positions the unified standpoint is not necessary.
They remain determined that a burden sharing policy is needed and they are advocating prevention of forced migrations, as it was already stated in the joint statement.
P.s. There is a couple of minutes missing in the video (in the middle) as you will notice. We apologize but we had some technical issues.
